Rendition Vs. 3dfx/N99

Ok I have a question about the difference between the "quality" of the
Rendition version of
Nascar Racing 99 vs that of the 3dfx.
  I have a P200mmx running at 75mhz so it's a 225.
Diamond Stealth II S220 (v2100)
Canopus Pure3d (Voodoo1)
64 megs edo ram.

definately not state of the art...but it still handles most stuff.

when I run the win95 3dfx version, the track lines are smooth, the
grandstands clean looking, very crisp.
But there is a very slight stutter comming back onto the main straight.
I had heard the Rendition version was faster so I tried it and man was I
disapointed.(and beleive me, I've had the Renditionand been a supporter of
Rendition,  a-lot longer than the voodoo)  I guesss it was the anti aliasing
but the Rendition version was blurry, with jaggy lines...much worse than I
remember even with N2.  The grandstands were a fuzzy mess compared to the
3dfx.    While I may get a few more fps out of the rendition version, I got
a MUCH worse picture.
My initial install was the win95 3dfx, and I  have the AA enabled in the
.ini file.  but is the dos rendition version actually that much crappier
than the 3dfx?   is there a setting to enable AA in the dos rendition?
I   ran the NR1999r.bat from windows(after running setsound)
  Any ideas?
