GPL on a Lan - problems!

Much as I love playing GPL online - the time has come to race against my
housemate down the LAN.

If I host (either IPX of TCP/IP) and we get into a race - the moment one car
overtakes the other - BANG - I'm dumped back to the desktop.

I'm sure it's a simple core.ini setting that I've got wrong - so could
someone put me right on it !
