GPL - LAN with more than 3 players

I (and 3 friends) tried to run a GPL LAN race but could only get 3 players
at once. When ever we got the 4th person joined, one of the 4 players would
drop out or crash with a GPF - Invalid page fault.
We were all using PCI NIC cards. I vaguely remember someone saying domething
about full-duplex. Should it be on or off? I have a Simple Networking 9 port
10Base-T HUB.

What is needed to run GPL with 20 players on a LAN?

 I think the default bandwidth for TCP/IP network play is set up for modems.
You have to play it using IPX or change the bandwidth settings in the
core.ini to use TCP/IP over a LAN.

We were using IPX.
Tried 1 guy on TCP and 2 on IPX (had trouble with the other 2 using TCP
since then I have fixed) and we had all 4 pulling out of the pits but
crashed/disconected just down the track.
