I always see to get a framerate of 35 or 36
whatever the resolution. What are the highest
framerates others are getting.

probably 36 as that is the max the counter is set to display

Mark,

The hightest fps you can get in GPL is 36.

Is it the highest framerate., or just the highest the counter registers?

I believe it's the highest frame rate the sim does. One improvement
I'd like to see in a GPL patch or the next sim based on the GPL engine
is the option to limit the frame rate to a lower number. Yes, you read
right, a lower number. With 10 AI opponents, I get typically something
like 30 fps when they are someplace else on the track. When they're
near me, the rate drops significantly. It's still o.k., but the
*difference* between 30 and 22 fps is distracting. Now, if I could set
the standard fps rate to 25, I believe the consistency of appearance
and the gameplay could be improved. Just a thought.
