gpl run-time error

by Joel A. Willstei » Sun, 02 Jun 2002 10:08:07

I finished my upgrade late this afternoon. I can run gpl at 1600x1200
with all graphics on and maintain 36 fps from the back of the grid.  Once my
test race started, I was flying. I should have been since I was driving a F1
Lotus rather then the FD cars we run in the SNRL.  When I went back to the
GEM engine swapper it wouldn't work. It kept on saying that I was missing a
run-time error 9 out of range.  I uninstalled the GEM program, and then
reinstalled it. Same results.

So now I finally got my dream racing machine after two years of saving
my pennies, but I can't race.  Anyone have any ideas:

Installed patch for 1.7+ processors
Installed D3D patch

new system
Asus A7V 333 motherboard
AMD XP 2.0+ cpu
512 MB of DDR SDRAM (pc2700)
Visiontek Xtacy Ti4 4400 agp card
Creative Labs Sound Blaster Live X-Gamer 1.5

Have you tried the original GEM?  Also, try posting to the GEM yahoo group
for help.

Roger,

     Thanks.

It seems that the Gem engine manager doesn't work with the cpu patch,
but GEM+ worked perfectly.
