GPL - Q: How do I use GPL Replay Analyser to get times for TaintRank?

Hi,

As we didn't include any detailed info about this in the readme-file I
though I'd post this to clear things up.

Question: How do I use GPL Replay Analyser to get times for TaintRank?

Answer:

1. For addon tracks you must make sure you have a replay from when you
set your fastest lap. That is the only way GPLRA can know what
laptimes to use for addon tracks. It doesn't have to be a big replay,
however it needs to cover a small part of the session the laptime was
set.

2. Run GPLRA and enter PB Viewer. Select the player to use if the
default isn't correct.

3. Click Display. Now GPLRA searches player.ini and scans all replays
in \gpl\replays, alternative GPL path and any Replay CD databases you
have created.

4. Click Export to .ini and save the ini-file.

5. Connect to TaintRank and upload that ini-file.

6. Done! :)

Cheers,

/Martin

Next question... Where is this TaintRank place?  How do we connect to
them?

With a web browser. "Connect" probably wasn't the best word to use.

hehe, dumby me.  I ran RA just now and took a look at the PB viewer.
After creating the exported ini file I glanced again at the lap times.  At
the bottom of that window I seen the link and clicked on it.  Glad the link
was there, just wish it had big blinking arrows pointing to it and in a size
700 font ;-)

The PB Laps viewer doesn't work on my computer (never did with
previous versions).

Instead of times, GPLRA shows parts of the player.ini-file, like
"i-aliasing on or off|debris = 1           |; Debris on or off"
and so on.
Instead of the pipe-symbol |, it's apparently character "09"
(hexadecimal).

What's wrong on my system?
Player.ini messed up because of saving with notepad after some manual
editing?
The same happens with all 7 player.ini-files.

Sounds as if something is strange with the ini-file anyway. Zip it
up(to prevent the textfile being modified by mail systems) and mail it
to me and I'll have a look.

You don't get any times for addon tracks either?

It shouldn't crash no matter what. But make sure the GPL path in
File->Settings is correct.

An incorrect path there has caused the program to crash sometimes for
other people.

Let me know if that is the problem so I can hunt the problem down.
