Version 2.0 of GPL Replay Analyser released

by Martin Granbe » Mon, 14 Feb 2000 04:00:00

Hi everyone,

Encouraged by the positive feedback from users of GPL Replay Analyser
v1.0, we decided to add more stuff to the program. In the end it
turned out to be quite a number of improvements so we decided to mark
it as version 2.0.

Well, what's new?
=================
Realtime plotting of driving lines are now included. It's quite
telling for finding where you loose/gain time. Pretty cool.

A new way of loading replay laps called Lap Finder is added. With this
you can browse all your (and other's) laps for a choosen track. Great
for finding your fastest laps if you don't remember in what files they
are.

Improved trackmap drawing by taking into account that the corners have
variable radius. Much better looking tracks now. But, this made the
trackmap drawing slower... So we drastically improved the speed of
trackmap redrawing when zoomed.

The other new stuff in short are:

*It is now possible to save a single lap as a new replay file
*Added panning tool in trackmap
*Added toolbar for toggling driving lines
*Added right mouse button menu. This menu has options for toggling
driving lines, zoom and pan options.
*Added highlightning of the tracksection marked in the graphs
*Added orientation to the graph
*Added orientation arrows to realtime plot
*Graph is now somewhat faster
*Added Settings dialog with
        -KPH or MPH option
-Option not to show "Quality report" after loading lap
        -Possibility to set GPL path
*Fixed these bugs:
-In some circumstances you couldn't see all parts of the track
in zoomed mode.
-Sometimes the program reported wrong number of drivers in the
replay file.
-Changed the text "Aborted to pits" to "Invalid lap" as it's
more correct.
-No more circles in print preview on Win9x. Not really a bug
in our program, but it's fixed.

Where do I get this program?

The realtime plotting works great Martin, this is the best way to
compare replays! In combination with TrackAnalyzer, Spygirl and
GPLDump we now can compare laps in every possible way.
Great to see that allthough the GPL community is rather small, such
beautiful tools and tracks are still being developed.
Also love the new option to uncheck the 'show quality after loading a
lap' off, saves a lot of mouseclicks while loading replays :)

Thanks for all your hard work,
Andre

One of the coolest things that I have used for GPL, now if I could
figure out why I am being out accelerated!
