What is Grand Prix Analyser?
============================
GPL Replay Analyser is a program with which you can load up your Grand
Prix Legends replays and analyse/compare driving lines and different
kinds of "telemetry" plus generate race and practice reports.

You can select up to five different laps. It doesn't matter if the
driver of the lap is a "local human", AI-car, "multiplayer human" nor
in what kind of session the lap was set. GPL Replay Analyser supports
all tracks, including Brands Hatch and the converted ovals. Any
upcoming tracks should work too.

Main features in GPL Replay Analyser are:

Trackview with:

*Zoomable trackmap showing road and surrounding grass, gravel traps
etc
*Drawn racing lines for different drivers/laps
*Playback feature for playing the replays in "realtime".
*Print support

Telemetry graphs:

*Zoomable graphs with speed, time, Revs (RPM) and gear. Graphs are
always shown in relation to distance(meter).
*Possibility to plot time difference between two drivers, making it
easy to see exactly on what part of the track you gain/loose time.

Reports(formerly included in the program GPLReport):

*Practice reports
        - Practice results
*Race reports
        - Race results
        - Fastest lap table
        - Highest climber table
*Lap Charts
        - Lap Charts for all drivers laps
        - Indication if the driver were off track during the lap etc
*Lap by lap reports
        - A text report describing the race from start to finish
including overtaking info, off track info etc
*Complete reports (all the above)
*All reports are printable and can be exported to file.

This looks like a great utility but I can't seem to get the track maps to
work.  I have GPL installed in the standard directory but the program keeps
telling me that it can't find the track map.  What am I doing wrong?

You might have moved GPL around after installing it. Start up
"regedit" and have a look at:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Sierra OnLine\Setup\GPL

If directory points at anything else than your current GPL path this is
the problem. If so, set it to the correct path. Or delete the key so
GPL Replay Analyser can let you set it from within the program.

Cheers,

Martin

Do you have a full install of GPL? I think the track-data is kept
on the CD if you have a 'small' install and then the Replay Analyzer
won't find the necessary files.

Yep, this is also a very possible cause to the problem. The way the
program is designed today you must have a full install.

This was my problem.  I have had two installs of GPL on my system at one
time and this key was still pointing to an old one.  Thanks for the tip.

Damn what a fine util this is! With this util I learned that I took a
completely wrong line at the Parabolica at Monza.
After studying some Woeger replays, I saw that you must see the
Parabolica as two turns, not as one big loop.
I only tried a couple of laps after I learned this, and after three
laps I allready drove 1:28:06. My PB is 1:27:96, and never got close
to this PB again untill yesterday.

Seeing that I took the wrong lines, it really changed my driving
style, paying much more attention to the fastest line now.
