But read some user reviews on www.imdb.com - the 'average' crowd seems
to love it..

A cult classic in the same mold as "Plan 9 From Outer Space."

Yeah, but r.a.s isn't exactly the average crowd. Or is it? ;-)

I haven't seen it yet(but I do have an almost free coupon to use/waste)
so I may.  But most of the interviews I've seen has Sly focusing on
attracting or gaining interest from Non-racers.  As such, we may think it
silly, trite, condecending etc.  But that is just what will grab a 'non-fan'
and possibly pull him in.  So IF Stallone was targeting this non-fan as the
primary viewer of the film, it seems he suceeded.

Hmm, I guess that's why I asked "or is it" in the other post. <G>

Stallone has never turned out a decent movie yet. I abhor the Rocky
series too, Judge Dred was his low point though. Absolutely pathetic
shite.

Gary Cogil, the movie reviewer for WFAA in Dallas gave this a very
poor rating.  The graphics look like a video game, story not very
realistic, ...

He said that any movie that had a Stallone character as the most
rational is cause for concern.  heh heh

> Serious movie-lovers will like this movie a lot.

Errr, I think you might confuse something here :)

Serious movie-lovers all HATE this movie.
Racing freaks all HATE this movie.
The only people that enjoy Driven are the mainstream masses.

It looks like Stallone's best driving movie to date will remain "Death Race
2000", one of my all-time faves...8^)

J. P. Hovercraft
"Forsa Machine-Gun Joe!"

For me, the major disappointment of the movie was that Sly didn't have
a scene with Mr. Fernandez, the driver of the Tecate car, and go "Yo,
Aaa-dria-annnn!"
