Well, it seems like nobody appreciates being told they screwed up as
described in my summary of the cautions at Las Vegas, so I'm thinking I
should just zip up the roster ***and ship it off to Eldred.

I absolutely *refuse* to have my integrity questioned.  Maybe Tom Pabst
was right afterall.  Like him, I don't have time for this kinda crap.

Eldred, you got mail.  I've already taken the liberty of deleting myself
from the roster.

John I have been as straightforward as you always are with others, and it
seems to me that you just can't take the criticism that you have given to
others and that was the entire point of my post below. Now maybe you know
how the other guy felt when you stated that he pulled "a stupid move". No
one was asking you to quit, RASCAR. (AAMOF most guys seem to be grateful for
all that you have done for RASCAR).Only that you see your own mistakes as
you so easily see other's. I know it isn't easy to accept responsibility for
things you personally do on the track. Heck I have been there myself. But,
when you come on to the NG and post a summary like that and all but slam the
other guy with a "stupid move" and then turn right around and "sugar-coat"
your own incident. It just does not sit well. You have always been
straightforward with others, why not try to be the same with yourself.

BTW - why not cut the immature BS about quitting, and just move on to the
next track? Afterall you sound like my 5 year old playing with his friends
in the sandbox. "I'm gonna take my toys and leave..." LOL. . :o)

Welcome to the undesirable world of league admin. Everyone wants to race in
an organized environment but very few have the will or want to put it on.
When someone does step up to 'run' a league, they then have to put up with
the backlash from the very guys that wanted to run in an organized fashion.
It can be a  truly a no-win situation in my experience. Running a league is
an all consuming thing, rules, disputes, schedule, actually putting on the
events, and so on.

(I know you guys don't call RASCAR a league, but shy of points racing, it
really is...)

I don't run with you guys, but I do hate to see an otherwise good idea start
to unravel like this.

Running a league is not easy but the big part is sticking with it when it
gets it worst.
The biggest problem I have seen of RASCAR (from the outside looking in) is
that you guys don't want to call it a league.  Someone has a few rules but
no one officially stands by them and as such it is going to get out of hand.
Either you control it fully or it's nothing more than a pickup race.   Seems
you wanted all the good of a league without all the effort and politics well
that isn't going to happen.

"going to get out of hand." is what I said.
If someone that is running it is to the point of quitting then I would say
it is well on it's way.

Too late - it's a done deal.  Y'all have fun.  Besides, it's better to
have one person quit (me) than to have to people quit (ginger and
mitch).

Ah, just wait until next saturday, you will get that itch and just
HAVE to race.

I thought the recap was a nice touch. I would have like to have seen it
combined with another "highlight reel", and perhaps some of the reporting
was a bit too subjective, but people are always going to ***. Don't leave
the league, just grow a thicker shell. I know I have only raced twice with
RASCAR, and have made at least two "stupid moves"...ok...maybe 3... but I
know I am mature enough to take it if someone called me on it...or showed a
"highlight reel"... like when I looped all by myself in the last race I
attended....

That being said. There really should be rules for this league. I am all in
favor of rules, less chance to *** when everything is on the table. The
only rule I would hate would be having to make each race, but since that is
kinda against the entire RASCAR idea, I won't worry about that one...

I don't think it's out of hand.  I offered up what I thought was a fair
and balanced look at what happened, made objective statements, and was
then told I wasn't making fair calls on incidents cused by others, much
less being "equally harsh" about my own incidents. I've run a few
leagues for both Nascar racing and GPL, and I've made calls that weren't
popular, but NOBODY has ever questioned whether or not my indictments of
my own performance were less than accurate, much less accusing me of not
being harsh enough on myself.

Like I said before - I'm out, and y'all have a grand old time.

I NEVER wanted you to quit racing RASCAR John!!!!  I never planned on
quitting either.

I felt wronged by your critique of the race is all.  No one ever wants to
see the other (my) replay though so I just gave up and moved on.  I take
responsibility for the incident, just didn't feel it was fair to call a pass
a stupid move and repeat the stoopid part numerous times :)   My point being
I didn't just ruin his day as you say but rather he has to take his fair
share of the incident is all I was pointing out.  Not in so many words
though.

You're a fast clean racer Simmons!  That should be enough said..

I always supported calling this a league and having rules and enforcement
policies set forth.

Mitch

I thought so too.  Watch the replay, make your own notes on the
incidents, compare them with mine, and see what you come up with.

RASCAR isn't a league. It's a grooup of people that race together
because they want a clean race. To atain that goal, there needs to be
some agreements that everyone has to follow.  Beyond that, unless and
until the group starts examining the root causes of the incidents,
nothing will change, and there will continue to be incident-filled
races.  This means that they have to be able to admit when they***
the pooch.

Even with all of that, I really don't feel that I have to sit here and
have my integrity and honesty questioned. I didn't post the recap in
order to coddle people and make them feel good about themselves. At the
same time, I didn't do it to be mean-spirited.

No worries though.  I won't be doing it again.
