They have decent net connections, and there's me with dial-up. So no online
racing for me, then...

They're running N2003! not out here until next week. Here's hoping the
postie sends it out a wee bit earlier.

Seriously, fair play to all you lads and lasses, keep on keeping on. Anyone
not keen on the RASCAR posts can just filter them out. I couldn't give a
flying f*ck either way, it's not like i have to read every post. It's a
racing community, after all.

That said, d'ya think John Simmons would paint me a nice N2003 car if i ask
him nicely?

A 56k connection  is more than enough to run Papy stuff online with
little to no warp. =)

I have some available that I'll be happy to put your car number on,
but I don't do requests. :)

I agree, if it's a quality connection.

There is absolutely nothing worse than a 48k connection that has to
re-transmit every other bit because of line conditions.

IMHO you are better off locking it down at 28.8 or 26.4 (or even 21k if
necessary) where you will have 100% accurate data transmission with NO
retransmissions.

It isn't speed that kills online racing.  It's re-transmissions.

In the days of NROS I had my Courier locked down at 19.2k and I never saw,
or caused, warp and I was in the green most of the time.
