GP2 Flag Question

During practice at Monza, I went over a curb at high speed and at the top-left
of the screen I saw a black flag with what looks like a skull and crossbones in
the middle of the flag.  Didn't see this flag in the manual.  Does anybody know
what this flag means.

It means you went over the grass or something else the game didnt like,
instead of a stop and go penalty like in real life, you get the black
flag and lose power for a few seconds.

This pirate flag inst in the original game. The black flag is located in the picture
that corresponds to the***pit. Maybe you changed the picture of the***pit
(cpithi.pcx or cpitlow.pcx) with a new one that includes this flag.

And the skull is from some add-on... I have that, too - but I don't
know why they should give me the new cars (thanks) but also these
somehow annoying things...

Thanks, Pody

This flag means that you have been penalised for taking a shortcut!
True!!  What then happens is that your car's speed is reduced for a certain
time period (10 seconds or so).  It is the sim's way of stopping what
people used to do in the original GP1 sim....particularly thru' the
chicanes at Hockenheim.

Steve....
It means that you have been penalised for "taking a short-cut"!  your car
would have been subject to reduced speed for a certain time after the
incident.  It's the games way of overcoming the tendency for some drivers
to possibly gain by cutting across chicanes (as could be done without
penalty in GP1) and emulates the imposition of a penalty in real life.

Where can I pickup this bitmap at? Sounds like it would be fun to try
once or twice...
