iRacing question

Since I decided not to renew after I tried this, I have a question. I
ask, because after not renewing and letting my one month sub runout, I
no longer am allowed to log onto the iRacing site.
How am I able to find out if they do anything that I might like? I just
might want to find out if they update anything and I might want to renew?
I can't even read the forums, or anything. I'm tempted to think they
don't want me. ;) I know the Northeast can be a bit snobby, but really,
c'mon guys. How am I going to be able to keep up on what they are doing?
It almost looks like they want me to pay to be able to know what's going
on. Even if I don't use the software.

Oops, nevermind. I guess I had to manually logout, then google iracing
and enter the website. I jumped on the 'Let's bash the snobs' bandwagon,
sorry.

Interesting, so you can still log on to the forums (though not any kind
of driving) with your account details after the 1 month runs out? I was
hoping that would be possible, but expected we'd be 'kicked out'
completely until after the public release.

I doubt I'll go over a month, but it would be nice to keep in touch. Mind
you, if I *do* ever get to a 4 rating and invest in both the Skippy and
current track to race on, I may find myself sucked in a little too deeply
to escape. The more you spend, the harder it is to write off the
investment.

Mmmm... what a dilemma. Carry on driving the Solstice and guarantee I
leave, or invest in more stuff and risk having some fun. :-)

Ummm, no to the forums. I can only get to the public web page. I guess
in order to view the forums, we'll need to open our wallet. Unless
someone can tell me what I'm doing wrong. On the plus side, we can still
register to receive email updates.
On another note, I found it odd that today after I posted, I got an
iRacing certificate in my email box. I'm not quite sure what it's for,
but I'm going to assume it's meant to make me feel good about spending
money for the month I tried it out. Maybe I'll just cave in and spend
more,  hehe  ;)

Oh right, my misunderstanding. It makes sense that you're out completely
once you stop handing over cash.

I think that's what they call a bribe, isn't it? :-)

Even though my experience so far has been pretty uninspiring, I've got a
funny feeling that if I quit and don't have the option to race any more,
I might want to. I think there's something horribly ***ive about this
whole sim/pricing structure.

To be fair to iRacing, I've done more driving this week than in the last
month... maybe much longer. It is forcing me back to the wheel, even if
its only out of sheer ***y-minded determination to get my money's worth!
In the process I am re-discovering the urge to race online... or at least
watch that racing from the back. ;-)

Who knows, maybe the discipline induced by handing over cash every month
is just what I needed.... though maybe not in the summer when there are
better things to do with the daylight.
