I have a Gateway G6-266M that was purchased solely to run Sierra's Nascar2
on the Total Entertainment networks Nascar Online Racing Series.

I have Nascar2 ver. 1.00

The trouble is this: While N2 runs fine (awesome in fact!) loaded and
played through DOS (you have to bypass Sierra Intro though), it will not
run through Windows which is necessary for NRO.  It will not work whether I
go out for the Sierra auto-update or not or update patch to ver 1.03. The
following error message is received:

AN EXCEPTION OE HAS OCCURRED AT 0028:C0006882 IN VxD Vmm (01) + 00005B812.
THIS WAS CALLED FROM 0028:C0009C1D IN VxD (Vmm01) + 00008cid.  IT MAY BE
POSSIBLE TO CONTINUE NORMALLY.   (It ain't!)

you will only need 2 of them.

Can I trouble you to ask what your WIN95 configuration is?  I have a
voice/data modem and would like to talk to my buddy while racing him.
Problem is...my modem software will only work in WIN95.  I don't have
too many probems in DOS and don't want to***things up...but I really
wnat to use my modem for talking to my buddy.  Can you help?

Thanks

Jody

sorry, as far as i know, you would want to use the whole modem to play
the game with to get the best possible connection. i dont think you can
use it to play nascar2 and run another program to talk at the same
time.  maybe there is a way to do this but i di not think so.
im not sure what you mean by my config.  if you want my config.sys or
autoexec.bat, they are both blank.

I have a 33.6K modem.  The game only uses a max of 19.2K.  It is a
simultaneous voice/data modem.  I've been told this works, but I've
never seen it for myself.  As far as windows goes, I was just wondering
if there was anything special you had to do to get it to run under
WIN95.

for me there was noithing special to do to get nascar 2 running in
win95.  i just ckicked on the N2 in the nascar folder and it starts
right up to. i think it even puts a shortcut in the start menu.

ive never had any problems running it in either dos or win95

How do you run N2 in DOS?  Especially if your setup to run in Windows.

to run n2 in dos, i use a shortcut on my desktop to boot to dos with its
own autoexec and config.sys for best performance. this way i click the
shortcut, it goes to dos, when im done it automatically goes back to
win95.

Steve

i could sent it to u if you want but im sure you know how to make one.
plus my config and such would probably be different then yours.
