N2 PROBLEM IN WIN95

by schm.. » Sun, 15 Dec 1996 04:00:00

I give up! NASCAR 2 will not run for me in WIN95.

I have a Dell P-90, 16 megs ram, SB 3D vid card.

After installing thru the install program in N2, I can only get N2 to
run after rebooting to dos. I uninstalled and tried the Dos
installation, still have the same problem.

The game runs fine in Dos. I really want to try out Kali but with this
problem I'am stuck.

Anyone have any ideas?

I have the same problem. I can run the rendition fine in dos but
if I try to do it through win95 it will not load the sound. I've had a
couple of people that were nice enough to help me and they did manage
to help me get it running in dos but still no sound in win95. I know
how you feel:)

I had a problem but I did the dos install then created a shortcut to the
Nascar2.exe file using windoze explorer and now everything works fine
try. Why this fixed my problem, I have no idea.

N2 PROBLEM IN WIN95

I have a Matrox Millennium and when I run N2 in 95,  the colors go all
wacky.  Something about N2 not changing Vid Modes right.  If I had to
guess, I'd say you have a more serious version of the problem I have.
Briefly I looked at the readme file on the CD and saw they had some
problems with a few video cards.  Mine was listed but the game runs fine
for me in DOS and I run KaliDos to play it so I really dont care about 95.
Wait a few weeks for the Vendors to get drivers out for the newer cards.
With the number of postings in this NG concerning 3D , 3D Fx, and Rendition
cards, I'd be willing to bet You'll see a ton of patches and bios upgrades
soon.  Everybody wants to be the first to have their card work perfect.

Check the readme's for basic help.  Consider getting a BIOS Upgrade for
your motherboard since it is rather old by todays standards (ie, +1yr).

Sorry.
WHen I try to load the game from windows, it brings up the dos screen,
starts to load, then exits back out to windows or will lock up the
sysyem.

I have the same problem regardless of how I set the shortcut
properties.  I did install from W95.  Will reinstalling from dos fix
this?

I also have a bigger problem!  I run in dos mode, everything is fine,
then my sound quits working.  I have to reboot the system to get sound
working again.  Any ideas on this one?
