N2 patch problem T2 WIN95.. PLEASE HELP!

by Chris Shearbur » Fri, 25 Apr 1997 04:00:00

What about a T2 user?  I currently use the T2 wheel and it won't calibrate
right now.  I can't belive it.  Do I have to wait for a patch to fix the
patch?  I certainly hope not!  What can I do to fix the problem?  Here is
exactly what it does...

The numbers on each side of the number line are much larger.  But when I
calibrate the pedals, and push down on the brake, it jumps to the gas side
of the line.  So I decide to try it and what happens is I can press the
brake pedal all the way and have full throttle.  And when I let off the
actual gas pedal.  It stops immediately like it puts the brakes on.  Is
there something I can do to fix it???

Redoing your control configuration should solve this problem. (From my
guess as to what's happening...)

I have this exact same problem running in MS-DOS mode.  I have a Cyrix
CPU.  Not sure if that might have anything to do with it, but I
remember seeing in the readme something about 'fixing' problems with
controllers being used in Cyrix systems.  I didn't notice anything
wrong before.  After the patch I really can't play the game because I
can't configure the pedals properly.  Imagine pushing your break pedal
more than 2/3 of the way down and have the game think you are flooring
the gas pedal...

I also have the same problem. Ironically, the first time I played
after patching it, everything was OK.
I had some problems the next time I ran it, and tried to re-calibrate.
I have the same problem with the gas pointer "wrapping" around to the
gas side. Exactly as you said, full brake will actually be like
hitting the gas.
I tried from straight DOS, and Restart in MSDOS mode from Win95.
I'm also using a 6x86.
