You might not have, but some do! My comment was aimed at those who (like
me) post questions for help/instruction in faster driving and set-up
techniques - ie those trying to learn the game hoping for some help from
those who've gone before.
I practice - of course I practice! But if I thought that was the _only_
solution I wouldn't be reading this conference, I'd be practicing!
Drivers go to race schools for instruction, they go testing and discuss
telemetry/visual data with other people to get ideas on how to
change/improve things at their next practice. THATS what I/we are doing!
If you can help, I'd be very grateful. If you can't or won't, that's
fine, but please, as I said, either offer constructive advice or just
let it lie.
If someone can't get ICR to work with their modem, or wants advice on
optimal settings for OS/2, I hope people wouldn't reply with comments
like "try all the settings and see what works for you" or "read the
documentation".
I was very impressed by things like the Computer *** World WWW pages
where they discussed setups with practical sessions and some actual
setups for Atlanta and Martinsville. I can't equal their times, but I'm
close, and it's a lot better than the Ace setup. And examing the
differences (and testing them, ie PRACTICING!), has been very
educational.
Once more, I (and others like me) would really appreciate help and
advice - but paranoia or patronising smugness really isn't adding
anything positive.
Cheers!
