Is there any way to keep the steering wheel from moving?

I deleted the driver arms from the gen files and I'd really like now
to be able to drive without the distraction of a 2nd wheel moving in
front of me (and generally out of sync with my input for that matter).
I've tried moveable=FALSE which just causes the entire wheel to not be
rendered, which isn't desirable since I need the LCD info.

You can actually *read* the LCD info?!?  Man, for me that's an impossibility...

Thanks,

You can either comment out or delete the "arms" section in the .gen
files in your SeasonData/Vehicles folder.

Yeah, no doubt.  I always set it to the tyre temps page, because it's in
icons and colors.  And I don't like to use the HUD overlay, so I'm
lacking for information.  At least in a race, the race engineer will tell
me my gap to the car ahead.  It would be neat if I could get him to say
whether I'm up or down on my personal best, sector by sector.

What type of wheel do you have?  My Logitech momo moves in perfect sync with
the wheel on screen.  No perceptible lag what-so-ever....

It's not the wheel.  I can verify on the controller assignment screen
that I'm not getting jittering or lag or anything like that between
the wheel and the game.

Regardless, even if my wheel and the one on screen are in synch, I
can't drive that way.

Can't?  I think you're being a bit pedantic there... :-D  The wheel & arms
in GPL don't bother me either...

Some people just get distracted by the wheel, s'all...  No pedantism(izzat a
word?) called for.

The only sim I can stand driving that has a wheel in it is Mobil 1,
because it doesn't really move at all.  The fewer things I have moving
in my direct line of sight, the better.  It's not really something you
can ignore in an F1 title either since all of the data you need to
look at is on it (otherwise I'd just completely comment out the wheel
and turn the HUD or something on).
