Need Help w/ N2

by Daniel J. Plantho » Thu, 12 Mar 1998 04:00:00

Hello all.

Just bought N2 and the BGN expansion pack.  After installing the
original game, I tried to run it and got the opening video to work,
then it loaded the game, but the video was very messed up.  The screen
was scrambled, and when the mouse moved it would flicker around.  Has
anyone had this happen, and how do you fix it?

System is a:
P200
ATi 3d Rage / Mach64 video hardware on board.

The sound works fine.  This problem happens in both Win95 and DOS.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

BTW, I can't run UnivBE because of some shadowing or other.

Thanks.

Dan.

Thanks for the information, but I do not have any univ.* files on the
computer.  Running the UvConfig.exe file produces a message stating
that my video card has relocatable IO enabled, which is not supported
by UnivBE.  I have fought through the menu system and gotten to the
race, which has the same problem in 640X480, but not 320X200.  So I
guess that is the problem.  Anyone got any solutions?

Just wanted to say thanks for the tips, but I found it was the ATi
VESA extensions - I didn't have any.  Got 'em from the web, and
everything is fine now, lotsa fun.

Thanks
Dan.
