N2 Destroyed my IExplorer Too. Need Help Badly

by Chuck Gulke » Sat, 14 Dec 1996 04:00:00

Just installed my new N2...from the W95 Run command.  The game works OK,
but my previously excellent running Internet Explorer doesn't work anymore.
I uninstalled N2 and Explorer and reinstalled Explorer from a CD.
Explorer still doesn't work, even after doing several reinstalls.

I'm no computer expert, and could use any help anyone wants to offer.  Will
I have to reinstall W95?  Again, sure could use some help?

Thanks greatly, Chuck

I seem to be having the exact same problem. Does anyone know what to
do about this. How do we go about getting IE back?

Same happened to me! When I reload exployer it comes up and shows the desk
top image in the top left 1/4 and when you click on file the only option
you have is close , is the same problem you have?

Yep, That is the problem. I'm going to try to install a different
version or IE. I'll let you know what happens.

Try UNINSTALLING Internet Explorer first. There should be an entry in
the Add/Remove Programs seciton of Control Panel.

You may also need to 'update' to the latest 3.01 version of IE.

I was able to restore it using the above. The version of IE I have is
installed along with the 32-bit AOL 3.0. It's standard IE, but has extra
hooks so that AOL can use it as it's browser. It can still be used
stand-alone, too.

I (of course, like EVERYONE else) had this problem, too.  I simply
re-installed I.E. from the original EXE file that I downloaded from
Microsoft, and everything is fine once again.  Are you using CompuServe, or
another on-line system which used I.E. for it's browser?  If so, you will
need to re-install that software also.
