Today (Sat.) 4pm EST practice begins for 1/2 hour.

First is Bristol 50% and then Watkins Glen 25%.

Fixed <fast> setup, yellows, realistic damage.

I probably can't make it in time for Bristol, but will try to be there for
the Glen. I strongly suggest disabling yellows though. Anything more than
two or three yellows will bore the heck out of everyone.

That's kind of what I thought but some of the guys wanted them. If they
aren't going to be in, somebody better e-mail Eldred soon and let him know.

Well, they're basically part of the realism and they also have a strategic
aspect. Still, I wish Papy had made the duration of the yellows adjustable
in online racing. It would be nice to be able to limit them to a single lap
or two. Maybe even if the host could do it on the fly, like decide on L1 of
the yellow whether it should be a full length or a short yellow.

I know it's not realistic this way, and this deprives them of their
strategic nature to an extent, but heck, so does having 6 of them in a 20%
race ;-) and if perhaps only those yellows that occur around the normal
refuelling time would be full length, the minor disadvantage cars who need
repair after an accident would have would be more than made up for by the
fact that the entire field doesn't have to go 'round in circles at 60mph for
more than half of the race...

Maybe... ;-)

Yellows should be off for road courses.

I'm generally in favour of having yellows on as well. Judging from last time
there will be few yellows to begin with, but if they do happen I'll accept
them as an integral part of the racing. 35mph at the Glen is slow, but they
shouldn't last for more than a lap or two.

You guys have fun tonight. Unfortunately my work/GF schedule prohibits me
from joining in. :-(
 Hopefully next time...

I have a terrible memory. In fact my memory's so bad I can't remember how
long it's been since I've forgotten anything.

Fwiw, I'd like them at Bristol, but not on any road course; they're just
to long at them, and usually to frequent.

In terms of the # of laps, as is would be the best.  Just as in actual
racing, the # of yellow laps is based on the field.  If there's lapped cars
there's an additional yellow lap.
Reducing the # of these wouldn't be fair to lapped cars anyway, as they'd
be pitting under green more or less, all the time.

>Yellows should be off for road courses.

Why? It can be important for the strategy and to keep the race
interesting.. when you get caught in a crash, there's no way to catch
up again with yellows off..

Doing some maintenance on my "race rig" today.....probably won't have it
done by 1:00 (Pacific)......might catch the WG race later, though.  Besides,
don't feel like throwing up at Bristol today....lol...

Silly me - I changed something earlier in the day and didn't test it.  The
server was still sitting at the login screen waiting for me to enter a Sierra
password... :(
