Hi All,

I am aware of the issues GPL has running on a Sound Blaster Live! But what I
don't know is whether these same issues are true for the Audigy and Audigy 2
series. Can anyone confirm if this is the case?

I am looking to upgrade my Live! and don't want to introduce a new set of
GPL issues...

From what I've read the Audigy can suffer the same problems as the Live, but
the Audigy2 should be okay. I haven't tried either myself though.

Friend has GPL & Audigy on WinXP (up from SBlive) .No probs regards frame
rates or sound.Myself had lot of probs with SBlive(sound crackles ,dropouts
and losing like 8 or 9 fps in GPL).Since upgraded to Epox NF2 8RDA+ using
onboard sound and its very good

You should be fine with Audigy 2.

I spent *ages* trying to reslolve the Live issue but never managed it.
Bought a Fotissimo III to replace it which introduced game stutters
and only partially resolved sound problems. Tore my hair out for an
entire weekend with that one. Eventually went with Audigy 2 and
things have been flawless so far.

I've been running GPL on my new xp system with an Audigy for 4 months now
and GPL is just fine and dandy. Just make sure you'rve installed the latest
livewire drivers and don't just use the ones XP puts on.

Ive been running to xp pro with audigy,and no problems at all.
I change mine live 3.0 to audigy cos of gpl.Till now its fine.

After all of that I spotted a Philips Seismic 5.1 on eBay brand new and
about 40% under what I can buy them for wholesale (or a plain Audigy DE)...
I figure if it does not do the job I can just sell it on eBay and upgrade to
the Audigy DE.

I didn't have problems with Audigy gamer (1) and GPL. least any that I
could attribute to sound card. dunno if this helps?
