How bizzare - After almost hurling this game, I tried running it in 720x576
and it ran unbelieveably smoothly.  This encouraged me to play around with
various drivers and settings etc.  At the moment, I have it running in
800x600 with full detail and it's very smooth (12.90 drivers).  I'm not game
enough to try playing around with the settings any more.  One thing I've
noticed - this game is *twice* as good in full detail as it is in medium
detail.  The level of track detail on medium makes the game look cartoony
and not believeable.

For now I'll stick to Monaco where there's no grass. ; )

There's a third party addon to make the grass bumpier.

Tooooold ya :))
Good to hear it works for you now! F1 2001 requires quite some hassle
to get it working ok, but once it runs correct it's a hell of a sim.

Just install that grass patch if it bothers you so much :)

So, beginning to not look like 1997 any more, is it?
I can't understand why you are having so many problems at such low res.  It

Are you kidding me? You trash the graphics without checking them on "full",
I really question your opinion and will take everything else you say with "a
grain of salt"

It's proven to me that in the this day and age, motion is very important
when judging visual quality.

The game is running smoothly now and I'm enjoying it.  I'm afraid I still
prefer GP32000 as far as a quality all-round *** experience goes
(telemetry especially).  But for now, I'm enjoying F12001 for what it is - a
fun driving model that doesn't nearly reach its potential.
