I could have sworn that I had my XP2200+ up and running on my A7M266 at
one point, but I'm starting to wonder if I'm mistaken and that I had a
different board in my *** PC at the time, because I've since moved
that board to my work PC and I've even tried Beta BIOS's to get it up
and running with a newly purchased 2200+, no go
However, the latest BIOS says something about adding support for TB's,
but I wonder if this may be for the lower spec TB's which is now
replacing the Palo's....

Cause the 2200 I have now won't run on that MoBo, CPU is tested OK and I
tried the 1008_02b BIOS as well, went back to 1007 in the end as it's my
work PC

I agree, one of the best boards I've ever had, reminds me of the old
ASUS P3B-F boards, but for the sake of the everlasting quest for speed
it's now relegated to my work PC, *** PC has a A7V8X (KT400), which
works well enough but I kinda wish I had waited a little bit and bought
an A7N8X (nForce2) instead, even though it's against my principles to
own nVidia based stuff...:-)

Asus info has not been very reliable on this. Apparently it's possible to
run an XP2200 with the 1008 BIOS and a cranked up Vcore. YMMV. Check the AMD
forum.
Good luck,
Leo
Just what is suppose to be the differance between the two different cores?
Is it just the cooler temps?
Thanks
MadDAWG
So is there gonna be any performance differance between the two cores, or is
it just the cooler temps?
Thanks

If it was only the slightly cooler temps I doubt AMD would have given
the whole range the once over, although simplified manufacturing might
have something to do with it, but it's my understanding the the TB's are
slightly faster than the Palo's as well, but how much.....if it was a
whole lot I'm sure AMD would have made a big issue of it
