OT: Asus windows based bios update?

I thought I had a copy of a utility that updated Asustek motherboards via
windows.  I used it once on my system and it worked great.  I'm getting
ready to update another box and that mb needs a bios update to accept a
newer cpu.  but for the life of me I can't find that utility on my system or
online.  I 'think' it was on a a German Asus-site but thats all I can
remember.
Anyone have an idea or AM I having more false memories??

I think it's called "liveupdate" or some such Dave, but I'm only
guessing...:-)

http://www.asuscom.de/support/techmain/bios/liveupdate.htm   This is what
your after, although it is alot safer to update your bios through dos with
aflash.
Good luck.

It's called ASUS Update The cuurent one I've got is asusupdt3.41.04.zip just
do a search on the asus site

Seems to work quite well with my Asus p4t533 although it's updated itself
rather more than it's updated the bios!

"The Real Thing" <:
I saw that Easy flash feature, but my A7A266 must be too old.  It didn't
do anything.  Good news and Bad news about the flash.  I found the utility I
was looking for.  I had it all along on the Asus CD.  Tried the
update...seemed to go well but we got a checksum error when the system
rebooted.  (this is my son's box.)
Now the bad news.  The system seemed to start booting, but windows
wouldn't load.  No problem I thought.  I'll get the dos flasher and copy it
from my system to my son's.   except...a friend of his spilled a coke into
that box a year ago and my son has never replaced the floppy drive.  I had a
dead corparate system in the junk room so I yanked the drive out of that,
stuffed it into my son's system and tried the dos flasher.
This too went well, no checksum error this time, but windows still
wouldn't completely boot.  Hanging after the splash screen.
So I re-installed windows.  Usually when I do this it takes days to
properly sort things out.  My netcards take forever to properly reconfigure,
the windows setup always complains about a previous version already
installed...but this time(GOOD NEWS SECTION)  the setup breezed through,
all the previous settings remained, and windows loaded like a champ.  End of
story, but Christmas afternoon wasted.  I still had to risk blowing up the
AMD cpu when I installed it.  but that too went ok.  So all the flashing is
done and both systems seem to have survived.  Now to finish the stuff I
planned to do yesterday.

Yeah it does that but there's not much point as ASUS update works so easily
(well it has done so far)
