hello,
i'ce bought the microsoft ff wheel and first
i tried to connect on my pdpi's joystick card
but it didn't work !
so i tried to connect on my sb live and it works
perfectly.
since three year, i  bought four wheel include the microsoft.
first, formula t2, good at the begining but
spring always break and it had not good precision.
second, nascar pro : springs always breaks,
the pedals were better than the t2 but the
precision ...
third, the speedway wich is a french product
360 full rotation, good precision but the pod
were rapidly used and a general usure come
later.
so, i was not sure that the micosoft could please me because of it's 270
rotation
and of course that gpl is not force feedback.
and finaly i buy it and i was very surprised
of this precision : when you calibrate it in gpl
it always return same values and it didn't move
at the center !!!
and the best is that you can put forcefeedback
for the game like gpl : as your speed increase
the wheel is much hardier to turn !
and after a corner it come on center.
really great !
now i hope that this wheel will be the same
as the month were ago.
i think the most important when you want to buy a wheel is to think : is this
wheel will be
always the same as time pass.
i think that the microsoft is the best because
on optic-numerical techonology for the wheel
-- it's not pots !
enjoy.

Hi

thanks for the informative feedback

Are you using floor pedals for accel and brakes ?
Don't you find them cumbersome.

I am hoping for a wheel that uses peddles
so I dont have to use floor pedals.

good info on the digital control for the wheel
besides GPL how is your experience with other games
like NFS3 , etc  ??

regards
Leong

Not really, since I use my feet to operate them.  The practice is strangely
reminiscent of operating a real automobile.

Sounds even more cumbersome to me to try and get your feet up there on the
wheel while you are steering.

YMMV
