Just curious here...... can you use a FF wheel with a game for example Nascar
1999? or any other non-FF for that matter? Also, what FF wheel do you guys
recomend?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

If the game supports digitial control devices, yes.  I believe that NR99
does support digital devices.  However, most older DOS based games you wont
be able to use with a digital controller.

Probably the three best are the Logitech Wingman FF, Act Labs wheel and
Microsoft FF wheel (not necessarily in order as its by personal perference).
Saitek wheel might also be considered because it uses the same internals as
the MS wheel, but IMO (sorry John) I think it just looks ugly as hell.
However, Saitek is selling refurbished wheels.

There are many reviews on the subjects...check out the *** sites, also I
know www.simracingnews.com reviewed the first three wheels in head-to-head,
John's http://www.racesimcentral.net/
saitek wheel and maybe others.

Of the three, only the MS/Saitek wheels do not have USB comptability and run
on the MIDI interface of the gameport in a soundcard.  The others run on
either USB or serial (i.e. COM port).

Absolutely, as long as its a reasonably recent game.  I have a Microsoft FFB
wheel.  The nice thing about the FFB wheels is they provide a strong return
to center feel.  I have both FFB games and non and it works great.  BTW,
excellent choice for your driver.

Why do you want a strong return to center? You don't get that when driving a
real vehicle do you?

Depends whether you have power steering!  ;-)

Of course you do!  Especially with rack & pinion steering.  But even the old
worm-and-roller gave a strong return.

Except in my mom's old 1969 Dodge Dart.
