Ordering Act Labs wheel... FF or non FF?

Ordering Act Labs wheel... FF or non FF?

by Andrew Turne » Sat, 20 May 2000 04:00:00

Just wondering...

I have read a few things about the Act Labs FF wheel feeling "notchy"
and perhaps not being as good at small "fine adjustments" to steering
such as those in Nascar 3.. I like the idea of force feedback, but I
suppose it's not imperative.

So basically I'm weighing the FF against the non-FF; I suppose the
resistance in the non-FF wheel feels good too, but I have never seen one
in person.

Any advice or opinions appreciated!

Andrew

PS... Oh yes, I think I'll order the shifter too.

I'd go for the FF wheel.  The "notchiness"  is not permanent.

Remove "hi" from address or it will bounce....

the FF is REALLY great, anyway you can turn it off if you want, so better
have it than not.

I started a thread earlier this week because my wheel felt notchy and weird.
I wasn't convinced the first days, but your wheel will eventually loosen up
and you'll get control over the movements it makes.
I couldn't miss it anymore! I love the wheel, but the pedals are still crap.
I will have to modify like it's done at www.slottweak.com to get descent gpl
laptimes. (I can't stop from locking up my brakes)
Go for the Actlabs FFFF (F*cking Fantastic Force Feedback) wheel, and give
yourself time to get into it.
