DX9 Upgrade Problem

by Tony Corke » Tue, 24 Dec 2002 06:32:38

Hi,
I upgraded to dx9 from dx9 beta and when I run dxdiag I get 2 file
entries for certain files - one being the beta and one being the full
dx9 file. The warning message below shows -

Several files (Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3D.dll,
Microsoft.DirectX.Direct3DX.dll, Microsoft.DirectX.DirectDraw.dll,
etc.) are beta versions, which are unsupported and could cause
problems.
You should reinstall DirectX to get the latest version.

A re-install does not help. When I search for these files I can't find
them anywhere(I do have "show all files selected"

I've used a couple of dx removers but no joy. I think these file
entries may be hidden in the registry or a cab file somewhere. Again I
searched the reg and found nothing irregular.

Can someone please shed some light ?

Thx, Tony
