Why the accelerated tire and fuel usage?  Seems like we will end up spending
more time in the pits than they do in a full length real life race.  What
fun is that?

Also what weather will be used?  I have to put in a plea here for all the
races to be dry weather.  It's bad enough to have to develop a qual and race
setup but if I also have to develop various wet weather setups I am never
going to have time to learn the track.

I just want to confirm, you definately mean Saturday right?  Because in
that other thread "RASF1 race time" you suggested a time of noon Sunday.

My votes:

Race settings:

7x tire wear (to make up for the game's ***tire model)
normal fuel usage (in a 40-50% race some people are going to be
pitting anyway)
time scaled mechanical failures (or turn this off if Simmons is
playing *cough*)
changing weather
high frequency physics/hat sampling
client forced to use server settings

Legal aids:

traction control
automatic gears
clutch assistance

Pitbabes:

An assortment of moderate-build brunettes and redheads, preferably
with ***fixations.

If we get a website going, I'd be into creating a RAS F1 season file
and using custom made liveries.  Hell, if we wanted, we could turn
fines on in the server's PLR file and penalize people for getting
fined (i.e. breaking rules) by adding ballast to their cars. =)

Grrr... Still scratching around in the 1:21's...  Question for you guys:
what is your min speed through the second hairpin?  I'm down in the 40's
(kph) and sometimes lower.  The circuit map shows that I should be getting
70 kph through here.  I'm pretty sure this is where I'm losing the most
time.  Everywhere else on the track my speeds are at or higher than the
circuit map shows.

<sigh>  I don't understand this need for everybody to have custom liveries.
That's one of the reasons I have never joined RASCAR (the other being
Simmons :).  I want to spend my time learning the track and working on
setups, not sitting around painting my car.

And what have you got against blondes?

Because otherwise, there wouldn't be any pit strategy...  But, we can go with
normal wear for the first race....

Dry weather - I am NOT a ***...  But, I *am* using default setups...<g>

Um...I don't know.  Whatever was default, I think.  Hang on...
I assume you mean controller rates?
Steering - 20%
Throttle - 50%
Brake - 50%
Clutch - 20%
Speed sens. - 75%
look ahead - 0%
Head movement - 75%

eldred, change steering to 50% and speed sensitivity to 0% and then drive a
few laps i think you will like it much better

But to get back to the original help/hint....if you use 50% steering
with zero speed sensitivity, then you may find the car really wants to
wander at high speeds...especially with FF wheels.   If you have trouble
with this, reduce the STEERING LOCK which is in the individual setups.  The
default steering lock is 20 degrees.  You can probably find a very
comfortable zone somewhere between 14 degrees and 18 degrees.  Only at
tracks like Monaco might you need 20 or more degrees to zip around those
tight turns.

I read that and still posted Sunday in my original reply, but I'm beginning
to wonder who's brain is really frazzled.

Regardless, if you're going for Sunday that leaves out for this race and
again for Hungaroring (I think), so Neil's seat is safe for two races... <g>

That's a sad way to pick up a drive for me :(

I'm hoping someone may drop out and relinquish a grid slot in the next week
or so, but not holding my breath ;) I promise to look after the Jag and
polish it for when you get back.
