believe it is time to upgrade.
cant decide on 1.2 ghz tbird or dual p3 866. anyone have any insight on how
well n4 takes advantage of smp? i know it is supposed to support it but
havent seen any benchmarks to know if it works. thanks,

I have about the same setup but with an MX, I get 50+ fps at high
resolution.

i can get 60-65 by myself, but in a race, me starting in back, all 42 cars
drawn, my rate drops to about 20-22.

Can you two help me a little bit.
I'm in search for a new vid card. Since you two have similar systems,
can you post FPS number in some controlable condition for
1280x1024 resolution.

            Thanks in advance

there is no 1280x1024, only 1280x960. here are my benchmarks
1280x960x16, car detail: high, world level: max, draw dist: max, mirror
draw: 50%, cars drawn: 42, mirror level: high, track obj: all, steering
wheel drawn
OpenGL:
practice: 35-40
back of pack: 16-20
D3D TnL
practice: 40-45
back of pack: 18-25

Here is how i run since i play online 90% time.

1024x768x16, car detail: high, world level: max, draw dist: max, mirror
draw: 50%, cars drawn: 25, mirror level: med, track obj: all, no steering
wheel.
D3D TnL
practice: 58-63
back of pack: 28-35
