GPL with 3Dfx V5500 question

I noticed the 3Dfx V5500 video cards are in the stores now.  Does anyone
know if the hardware anti-aliasing feature of this card will help in GPL?
Will you be able to select this option now in the game which you could only
select before if you had a rendition video card?

You won't need to select that option with a V5 5500 anyway. AA on a V5
is selected in the desktop control panel and is enabled through
hardware in all 3D games. I heard someone mention they had problems
running GPL on a V5, but don't know what the problem is. Probably a
driver issue that will be fixed through updated drivers if there
really is a problem.

No need to even use it,on my k7 750 I am able
to play the game at 1600x1200 at full frame rates.
All detail on,detail slider bar in the middle.(K7 750)
With 4xFSAA at 8x6 the framerate drops to the mid 20s
More hype than hope.
BTW it still locks up with 2xFSAA,the tech at 3dfx said he had no problem
,but had not tested on a K7 system.

At what res did you try 2x FSAA? I don't have my V5 yet (on order),
but try a lower res maybe.

2X FSAA crashes from 640x480 on up in GPL for me, 4X seems stable but
the framerate hit is so bad that I haven't ran it very long.
