N2 & 3dfx...what should a 3dfx newbie expect?

N2 & 3dfx...what should a 3dfx newbie expect?

I recently (just a week ago) added a Monster 3D card to
my system (teamed with a Mystique 220), but I haven't
really put it to much use yet. I've just fooled with
GLQuake and Quake 2 a bit.

As someone new to 3dfx, I'm curious as to what I might
expect from the coming 3dfx N2 patch. My system is only a
P120, but w/56 MB RAM. I've only tried the N2 demo, and
it's a bit choppy with all the detail on. It runs with
acceptable speed with a few things turned off...but is
not quite as cool.

I'd be willing to purchase N2 if the anticipated 3dfx
patch will allow me to run the thing with more eye candy
and a better frame rate.  What do you experienced
3dfx'ers think I ought to expect?

I have a monster 3D in my P100, Games written with 3Dfx inmind
run v-fast, From my experience 3Dfx patches applied to published games
don't seem to go to the performace I have come to expect
(Like the games that come with the card - they run wicked)
I have patched a few games but not that impressed
