The patch fixes everything.  Period.  Thanks, Papyrus.

With the post right above you reading "N4 Patch Problem" I find that hard to
believe

Well.... :)

They didn't address the weak FF at superspeedways (steering way too loose)
nor did they address the lack of enough steering ratio adjustments, again at
SS's.  The max is 32:1.  We need like 45:1 the way I figure it.

And no trim tab for controllers.  I will not quit complaining until they
comply :)

The rest is a nice job!

Yes they did, your version was made special for you that did not include
those two fixes.

Some people do nothing wrong.
The problem is, they do nothing.
And THAT is wrong.

No save race.

try giving yourself more caster in the setup, that will increase force
feedback.

Hey Grant, talk the folks at work into sending you to Skip Barber as a
"business expense" yet?  :)

I already tried that.  It's still not right...

There's something funky with the SS's.

I even too one of the other tracks setup there.  At it's intended track,
there was good force that kept the wheel tight.

With that same setup at Dega, it was extremely loose around the center.

It's not the wheel.  I've got two copies of the same wheel, and it's the
same with both.

Up till now, to have any sort of driving in a straight line, I've had to
kill FF and let the fake tensioning spring from the sidewinder software
tighten it up.  Unfortunately, that makes the ol' "Pull my chain to the
left" problem extremely severe :(  Non-FF wheels and FF wheels with FF
turned off suffer badly from this steering pull.  That's why I want a
controller trim tab, ala Nascar Heat.

If there was enough force to stiffen up the wheel, I would be able to keep
FF on.  Hey, maybe Mark Martin has something in his trunk that would help ?

It wasn't a bug, it was never designed to have a save race feature.

That's worse than a bug, that's a complete brain-fade.

Doesn't seem to be a big deal for GPLers, and the real NASCAR racers can't
save when they get bored either ;)

Odd, I think anyway, that save race is not there.  I would think it's not
that big of a deal to incorporate... seeing they likely have the ground
work from it in N3 and eventually featured in N2 ...  I for one miss it,
and find it takes a lot from the my enjoyment.  It is difficult to just
get this typed with kids wanting, needing, and deserving my time.

If you don't think the feature adds anything for your enjoyment...
simple, don't use it, but some of us really need it in order to have time
for a race long enough for pitting, gas mileage, and tire strategy effect
the race....

Multiplayer mode and needing the CD inserted, has absolutely no
importance to me, but, I'm still glad for everyone if their needs are
satisfied.  I only ask/wish the same....

Cheers,
Gary

Play a little longer.

It is "better" but its not fixed.  I have still seen a few problems
under yellow such as 1 group following the pace car and another
opening up a used car lot on the back stretch.  Green racing seems
better... before patch I was racing 91% at NC and taking a provisional
and without passing the average lap speed was around 136 - 137 and now
it is around 144.  The AI cars don't have more power I just think they
are driving better.  Saw a few clipping problems.  I like the numbers
in the replay views.

One problem I have noticed both before and after the patch is drivers
that I add in such as #9 Bill Elliot never end up qualifying.  They
are active and I select the roster that they are in at the start of
the race, but they never show up.  I may be doing something wrong but
I can't figure it out.  Even edited their ratings to give them god
like skills but they never qualify.

Still no save game.  They have just got to put that in there.  I don't
care if it takes 10min to save and load games and the save files are a
100meg in size.  I really want this feature added.

Real NASCAR drivers can't run down to the local software store and get
unlimited cars for $54... This may be shocking to some, so read on at you own
risk.... :-)

We are not real NASCAR drivers... (I too was shocked, but , got over it when
my wife pointed this out to me)

Cheers,
Gary
