: Hello,

: I just bought NASCAR Racing and I read that there is the
: option to install either the whole game or just part of it.

: Is there any significative advantage in installing the whole
: game or are the benefits minimal ?

Partial install = more disk space left for other things

Full install = less disk space + quicker loading of a track when you
first start practice/race at that track.

Unless you have a dog of a CD-ROM or have too much free hard disk space,
go for the partial install.

Hello,

Is there any significative advantage in installing the whole
game or are the benefits minimal ?

Thanks a lot,

I used to run Nascar (install part of it) off the CD and I found that
it took a while to load the garage, and maybe a few other options.
But overall i found the advantage minimal installing it totally to
hard disk.

You can never be too rich or have too much free hard disk space<g>

It mostly depends on the amount of hard drive space you want to
dedicate to the game, or whether you mind having the CD in the
drive all the time (which you will for SVGA anyway).

The load times for the tracks are much less by installing the whole game, plus
you can run it without your CDROM drivers loaded.   Less TSR's = higher frame
rate and smoother action.

SVGA does not require the CD to be in the drive.  If you install using a
"full install" from the CD, you can then play entirely from the HD.
