N4 Ranking Question

Maybe someone knows the answer...

What is the status of disconnected players in the ranking?  Does the scoring
calculate you as having beat the disconnected players....or only if they
manually disconnect?  If they are disconnected due to latency problems....do
the players remaining online get credit for beating them?

If your connection is lost during a race.....are you scored as having finished
behind everyone who remains online further into the race than you did?  Or are
you not scored at all....in effect given a DNS and not losing any points?

Doug,
I think & I do say *think* since they changed and reset all rating points!
If you are disonnected by the server during race *no change* in ur rating.
If you are ejected by the server during race *does change* ur rating
If you are just disonnected at all *real vague & a big ?mark* in ur rating
If you disonnect from the server during race ur rating *changes*
If you disonnect before race starts *no change* in ur rating
Now:
If you are hit in the rear at anytime including on pace expect an IC
If you hit anyone at anytime including on pace expect an IC
If you hit anyone after incident happened infront of you, expect an IC
Basically dont hit or be hit ever as you usually will end up with an IC
ICs effect your "rating points" more then a 1st place win so watch ur
hits aka contacts during a race or even on the pace lap!!
All the above are not definitively clear by Sierra & some are kinda in
a 'Grey area' but I watch my rating stats closely. All the above seem
to effect ur rating points..
Cheers Thom_j.

Oops when I stated *no change* or *change* in ur rating.. This was
referring to your detailed rating when you 'highlight' your name in the
lobby, then click P & then hit Ctrl-Shift for details! When I read my
own post it looked really vagure.. Sorry.. Thom_j.

Yeah. So I don't really give the LPI number much attention
anyway. Luckily it's not a limiting factor to join races.

So the rating points varies with the number of IC's ? In other words,
it's more difficult to promote the rank with many IC's ? Pretty
ridicolous with the current
a-incident-as-long-as-your-car-touches-anything-no-matter-what system :)

Do you meen if the server is shut down because I'm pretty sure if you get
discod you lose points (unless everyone else gets discod first ;))

Every IC gets you -3 points.  It can hurt you real quick.

I wish it was then you could have a LPI limit of say 10, any safe driver
should be able to atain an LPI of at least 15 I have had allot of bad luck
with people hitting me but still my LPI is over 30.

I also believe I read somewhere that ANYTHING that would normally bring out a
yellow....even with yellows turned off....counts as an incident.  I presume
this would include spins even if you spin into the grass.......

....would this also include a blown motor???

Basically thats it boss! The more ICs the slower your rise to a good
5-6-7-8-etc. It gets really hard after 5 with all the freakin wreckers
online now.. Just try to find a good group to race with and ICs are
not a nig deal.. Good Luck Thom_j.

No!! If a server closes the race you *dont* lose points but if you disco
and have been in a small accident ur fault or not and get dosco'ed by a
throughput problem you *do* get the ICs and point rating takes this as
an IC and it takes longer for you to rise to the next rating point. follow?

N4 Ranking Question

Thank you Uncle Fester!.... I knew there was a -# for each IC but
I didnt know what it was?... Now as Uncle Fester just pointed out
if you have an IC it drops you -3 and each time this happens it will
take you back to your last IC lap... Meaning you had an LPI of 25
until your last IC and now an LPI of 57 but you get an IC and you
go backwards to the last IC [as I have been told now! ] of LPI 25.
So ICs are just [if not more] important as a 1st place win!!
[I hope I typed that all correctly>?..lol But you get the basic idea]
Cheers Thom_j.
