N4 ranking, getting races to count in your stats

I was under the impression that to have a race count in your stats, you had
to join a race (through the sierra.com link) where the host has specified a
ranking range.  I've only run two on-line races, both Daytona races that
were coded "0-10".  Neither has shown up in my stats, it still shows "0" in
all categories.  Is there some other requirement, such as length of race or
number of competitors?

I don't know the specifics, but you are right.  You have to join a ranked
race.  However, if they are like the Raceserver.net rankings, then you
must have a certain number of drivers at the start before the rankings will
count.  This is to prevent two guys going out to bristol and putting down
a couple of hundred 2 lap races with each guy winning 50 or so times.
Also you 'probably' need to earn some sort of points in the race.
Cruising
around at the tail end of the pack will not increase your ranking.   I
started
about 4 ranked races so far.  I've seen results only from two of them.

The short answer is they need to DOCUMENT this so we understand what's
happening.  NROS documented the entire process well.  We need the same
now...

I wondered about that.  The second of the races only had about 5 cars and I
finished 2nd, but the first one had about 23 starters and I finished 3rd.

Its my understanding that a race with 0-10 is an "unrestricted" race and
rankings will not be produced. The race has to have some sort of
"restriction" either 0 or 5 or 10 without a range in order to count toward
rankings.

I raced a couple at Watkins Glen on a Papy server with 0-10 ratings with
a large crowd and got 1 RC rating each race :)  At least you will/should
see your LPI go up even if you didn't get a rating.

Races with "-" are non-rating servers.  Pointing your mouse to the RTG
title while in WON gives lots of good help on each field.

I don't have the specific details, but the race has to have ratings
enabled in the Ratings column, there has to be a minimum of either 4
or 5 people in the race, and the race length has to be over 10 minutes,
before ratings are actually scored. Or something like that. :)

no from what I gathered....0-10 IS a ranked race.  It's the ones with NO
rating at all - that are unrestricted and do not contribute to your
rankings.

Well, I don't pretend to understand this system any more than the rest,
that's for sure, but I do know for a a fact that 0-10 races score.

Almost every single race I've run in has had a 0-10 setting, and I've worked
up to a RC=1, ST=2, SW=3 and SS=4, with an LPI of 525.

We _really_ need Papyrus to document this entire system.  Now...

It's intended to mean _something_, and if we don't understand the meaning,
how can it ever be applied to anything?

disco...???
stuff like that...I'm only going from memory on what the exat stats were...
