N4 Ranking Question

Alex I run 3 IDs in N4 online.. So far {knock on wood} I havent gone over
15 ICs and my LPIs stay around 40-70 [not good btw] but if we didnt have
all the 'damn wreckers' around to get un-warranted ICs my LPI would be a
200+.. "O" Well I must find a good group of racers again & get out of those
dumb pick'up races.. Phew!!

| I wish it was then you could have a LPI limit of say 10, any safe driver
| should be able to atain an LPI of at least 15 I have had allot of bad luck
| with people hitting me but still my LPI is over 30.

I know it'll get you on a spin, I've had that at Watkins Glen before.
After an otherwise clean race except for a 1 car T1 shunt midway thru
the race, my IC count incremented.  As far as blown motors, I don't
know.  So far I've been lucky, no blown motors since the reset of the
rating system.  Easy on the tape, I say!  <g>

Yeah, I was doing OK until I hit the Papy server for a couple 50 lappers
at Bristol.  Can you say ***BATH?  Ran my IC count WAY up.  :-/

Which opens a whole new can-o-fishbait.....since the IC is combined for all
four classes/track types it really doesn't seem too "fair" that an incident is
given the same effect on the ratings at Bristol as it does at the
megaspeedways.  Sure  you run more laps at Bristol meaning that a single
incident may not have the same effect but the odds of incurring multiple
incidents in a 50 lap short track race (especially in pickup events) are mighty
high.

I agree and have no idea how they came up with this rating system but
maybe this is how it works in other Nascar ranked sims? Since this is
the new rating system, I guess it wont be changed now? Yukk..

Which reminds me of another frustrating way that idiots are trying to beat
'the system'.  In 3 different races last night I was close to the front, a
few turns from the end and the host shuts down the server because he/she
didn't like their track position and/or caused/received too many IC's.

Phasor if you only knew "just how many times!!" this happens!!
Oddly you can get an IC from this time to time & I have no idea
why? I just left a 'so called' 5-10 rated race & 2 wreckers were
in there. Got slammed in the azz twice in each race {thats 4 ICs}
and the host didn't do shit about them either... I left of course..!!
I think it might be time to go back to Vroc! Hell!! DTR is better
then this crap!! phew!!

The host might not have been racing(unattended).  But, if the host is racing,
would he even be AWARE of a troublemaker?  Besides, does he have time to type
the !eject command?

Eldred, In this particular instance yes he was there & yes he has
ejected before while he raced! This was the 1st time I ever saw
him *not* do anything.. Maybe it was his 1/2 brother's cousin's
uncle's mothers' brother Goober? Phew Inbreeeeeeeeeding!!
No BS tho' he was there & has ejected before!

Actually I have been amazed at what people are able to type into chat while
driving....I refer to most of this as "autochat profanity"  how can a guy
continue racing and still type up a maximum character message complete with
A**hole this and MF that yada yada yada???

N4 Ranking Question

by PHYDEAUX » Thu, 31 May 2001 14:17:25

I have a further question on the ranking system.

Since the ranking reset I have managed to attain a 2 rating on SS but my
average score (divided by 9) is a negative 8.3333  but on speedway I am still
at a ZERO ranking even though my average is +.3333

I have also notice in the last couple of days that more hosted races are
setting the ranking limits at 3-10 or even 5-10.  It's making it more difficult
to find a good server to run on.  The pappy ones generally suck with 30+
entrants and major incidents unavoidable.

N4 Ranking Question

I have 4 IDs for N4 Doug..{Dont ask why..lol} Now I have 3 SS4s and
1 SS5. How I get these so quickly {before all this wrecker crap!}Is/was
try to stay & finish the race "no matter what!" If even everyone are in the
SS3s-4s-5s and your an SS2 this is better for you!! Even if they are also
SS1s-2s-3s this too is fine! Just finish the race!!
Everytime one 3-4-5 crashes & you dont then finish the race go look at
how high ur 8#s are in the lobby by clicking ur name, click P, then hit a
Ctrl-Shift...The 8#s are at the bottom by your SS rating and the one all
the way to the right is your last race. Then 7 is the one before & so on..
Give it a try & see how fast ur rating climbs but stay out of Papyloop#
races... phew They are the worse for having wreckers!!!
Good Luck & Enjoy.. Thom_j.

The way I've heard it, it takes 50 pts to get a 1, 75pts for a 2, 100pts
for a 3, etc.  Fastest way to move up is to get on the highest ranked
server you can and *finish*.  If you're the lowest ranked driver in the
field, the ranking system does not expect you to do well.  A couple top
3's or even 5's under those conditions can change all that real quick.

I always hang in for the whole race no matter how bad I am beat up....Run on
Degahead.com a lot cause I can get a halfways decent connection showing a
little improvement...but still mired down with a 2 rating.

Like to run the flat speedways like Homestead and Vegas but hard to find a
decent server connection without password that will take a ZERO ranking.
