Why oh why oh why do you guys want to drive turbo cars in a sim???????????
The turbo cars were actually complete pigs to drive with horrific turbo lag.
How many of you hate how the BRM delivers its power? nothing, nothing,
nothing BANG!! it makes the car feel heavy and unresponsive ..... that is
an 80s turbo F1 car for you.
Most of the drivers disliked the actual driving experience of the turbo cars
but the sheer power (1400bhp + in qualifying) made them so mind blowingly
fast that there was a real thrill to them.
This thrill though would never translate to a sim though, so all you are
left with is a sim full of unweildy unresponsive cars....
I'd be happy to have GPL2 based in 1982 for all the reasons chris dictated
..... it was an awesome year in F1s history, with 7 different constructors
winning races that year. But most importantly I could drive a sweet handling
DFV powered cars like the FW08b and run rings around your turbo cars.
Fortunately I think that the papy team have a good enough undestanding of
race car dynamics so as not to make a GPL sequel set in the years after
1982.
My choice? Well it has to be 1976 ... last year of the proper ring....
normally aspirated cars not very reliant on downforce and a 6 wheel tyrell
to boot :)
82 would also be great for a sequel, but please please no horrible turbo

oh ... and any sports car legends sim from 60s, 70s or 80s would make my
lifetime :))))
