As a result of upgrading to Win98SE, I find that I have to re-install my
SoundBlaster Live Value drivers.  I have sound in GPL now, but I can't
get my CD's to play over 4 speakers, and parts of the Creative launcher
are no longer functional.

I know that many GPL-er's use the SBLive, so I'd like to know what
soundblaster drivers you are using and where they can be found (other
than www.soundblaster.com, since that server seems to always be
busy...).  Are you using Liveware 3 or Liveware2, or something else?

Any help/advice would be appreciated.

Thanks.

I have another problem.
My gameport on my sblive doesn't work.
It worked for a while, but now my contoller is detected as
"not connected". I suspect there may be some conflicts with the
on-board sound card, but I have never installed any drivers for it.
It's really annoying, since it means I am stuck with the Logitech
pedals.

What computer do you have? Some of the latest Compaq models also have
these annoying on-board sound cards, you must turn them off in the
BIOS otherwise you won't get another sound card working in Windows.
Otherwise call the manufacturer of your pc how you can turn the thing
off..

It's a mix-match of lotsa different components. Hastily thrown
together of the cheapest parts available except for the components
they show on the pricesheet, like cpu, ram, and videocard. And trust
me, here in Hong Kong, they know how to get cheap parts...
The motherboard is some unknown brand with via chipset.
I think I'll just try uninstalling the soundblaster gameport, and
reinstalling it again and see how it works. Can't get worse than
it is right now.

Oh, and I've turned off the soundcard in the bios a long time ago,
windows still detects it somehow.

Uh-o... Problem is they seem to work for quite a while,
then suddenly one day they don't work anymore. (If I get them working
again, I won't even think about doing changes to my setup.)
So maybe it's best to get them working on the 5.th :-)

Actually, I may have to re-scedule till the next week.  Anybody have any
problems with running Mexico on the 13th?  Yes, I realize that's Mother's
Day...<g>
The Indy race will still run on May 27th.
