We want a late 70's G.P. game. The time when turbo's took over F-1. And we
want it with the GPL engine! Just think of getting side ways with Gilles
Villeneuve in turn one at Watkin's Glen. The racing then was magnificent. So
put this first in line on your to do list, we don't need another Nascar game
right now!

Actually - just listen to this Papy.

NO MORE NASCAR...

Diverge a little, will you??

There's SO many forms of motorsport, and you focus on one that has already
been done plenty well enough (Nascar's 1 & 2)

So play with wierd stuff.

How's about a Mid 70's F1 sim, and a good sim of 1992, when car's were at
their best.

<dream mode on>
I'd love to see that also. 'Turbo era' F1, contemporary F1... , why not just
a platform with GPL quality physics, where you get different add-ons for
carsets, tracks, etc. for different eras of F1... or other racing series
(drool... :-)
<dream mode off>
I think there is the big problem, that you have to simulate aerodynamics
(wings, drag, ground effect...) to do this. If papy would make a 'winged' F1
sim using the GPL engine, they'd also want to model aerodynamics as good as
possible.
...and we all know, how much CPU power the GPL physics without aerodynamics
needs...  :-(

        (also dreaming)
I can't wait till they start separating the cars and track.  Build the
tracks as a regular over the shelf product and have cars that you have
to download.  This way, if we wanted, we could drive NASCAR on the
tracks that we want to, and/or the Motorcycles on those tracks, and/or
F1's (1967), and/or F1's (1975), and/or the combination of all of these,
plus.

Hmm, racing a dragster on Nurburgring against a 500 cc honda
motorcycle, and against a Monster truck? This combination probably would
only happen in off line racing. But online,  sure would be great to race
in a amateur SCCA even where different classes run together.  Closest
thing to that right now is SCGT where you can run GTq, GT1 and GT2
together.

I say bring out NASCAR with the GPL engine.  I bet if you take all systems
into account, there are more Indy type games on the market than NASCAR.  So
enough of the pretty fragile cars, bring on more NASCAR games where its more
skill than setup.  One more thing before you start flaming, when is the last
time you saw 43 indy cars bunched up about 6 inches apart doing around 200
for three hours?  If you want to go fast that's fine, drive the indy cars, if
you want to RACE, you'll race NASCAR.

Yes, and we want engines that stall as well please.

That would be so easy to code, yet make it much more realistic.

I remember when I lived in Australia down in Melbourne there was a
festival every year when people had to run a contraption that carried a
person down a gigantic takeoff ramp into a river.  Whoever's creation
went the farthest won.

About 20 people/companies took it seriously and built these
glider/speeder things but there were always dozens more who would build
just the most insane devices out of old beds or just guys flapping their
arms with cardboard wings, etc.

I really miss watching that every year...
