Doug,

1st of all, Papyrus doesn't make those decisions,Sierra does. And the
people at Sierra who have the final say are the accountants, just like in
every other business. All they know is that anything that has to do with
Nascar will sell and turn a decent profit. Add to that, their Nascar sims are
the most successful, and GPL was a commercial disaster, just what do you think
they will set as the programming goals for Papyrus for the next physical
year?

You must be joking???  Which country is going to dominate????  If you're
saying that the rest of the world combined will dominate - maybe, but that
doesn't stop the fact that success in America is winning half the battle (in
one hit!!!) and that goes for virtually every industry.

Wow, I guess America is the only place in the world where people know whats
going on then huh?

I really hate when Amercians claim that America is so huge, and we are
better than everything.....etc. I am from California, and its so funny to
hear people that have absolutely no idea what another country is like making
statements like I have read here.

Auto Racing sims are MORE Popular in Europe than in the US, all except for
Nascar Racing. The rest of the world hates Nascar, and we love it, so if you
are talking Nascar games, then yes the US is the biggest market. Rally?
hardly ever see a rally game in the US. Is rally more difficult and more
dangerous than Nascar in real life?? Hell yes!!. Cant see them cars fer long
enough to have a beer and holler alot though!

Lets not ruin the reputation of American Sim Racing Enthusiasts by making
bogus claims.

NasCrap?
Real racing?... Is that what those F1 cars do with margins of minutes
in between each car? *yawn*
:)

Yeah... why don't those F1 blokes throw more of those goshdarnnit-great
full-course-yellows to bunch the field up... sure would make it a bunch
easier fer them rednecks to pay attention once them there car-thingies
are all in the same screenshot again.    ;-)

Why stop there - F1 could have the full Nascar "real racing" where
the rules dynamically adjust to penalise faster cars.  Admittedly
McLaren would have to run without front wings because otherwise they
wouldn't have interesting on track battles with Minardi.  But, hell,
it's "real racing".

Ed,

Absolutely and utterly stay out of my newsreader [and I'm assuming that most
people would prefer that too] with your silly killfile remarks.

*Adopts Chandler tone*

Could you -be- a bigger snob?

Don't like it?  Don't watch it.  Don't like Papy NASCAR sims?  Don't buy
'em.
Don't like whats on TV?  Turn over.  There's enough space and choice for
all.
Personally, I'll watch virtually any form of racing that involves four
wheeled vehicles, from F1, CART and NASCAR through to Porsche Supercup,
BTCC, WRC, BRC and down to club level Caterhams and Minis.  I've never
managed to get away with Sports Prototypes but just because it's not my bag
doesn't mean I'm going to spout about how ***it is.  That would just make
me sound ignorant...

Relax

More like Super Touring, WRC/Can-Am, etc.  F1 is pretty much a
fast-forward parade series give or take the odd shunt.  Nas***is
pretty much a few of the same good old boys going in circles with
nearly pre-determined winnners.  Yawn's-ville on a good day. The ONLY
interesting time to watch Nas***is when you see them out on a nice
winding road course where they suddenly discover that the suspensions
suck and they have to turn the steering wheel two directions and deal
with a brake pedal. Ever notice that people you have never heard of do
quite well on these venue's?  Heck, I'd rather have a sim based on
SCCA Regional Runoffs and autocrosses than one more Nas***sim.
