Hey, the top 5 of those were originally done for Racer. :)
So if you want to drive those cars with better physics, hehe... ;-)

Sure they look good but how do they drive???  Is there any way to actuall
import the correct physics values into F12001?  Anybody driven one of those?

I certainly hope you reported that on the Racer Bulletin Boards, or sent in
a 'potential bug-report' to the developers. They can't fix 'em unless they
know about them :) The worst bugs... are those that go unreported :)

Cheers,
Schumi

I wanted to try them last night, but F1 2001 stopped working. .long
story, but now I'm in the process of reinstalling windows :-/
I believe the physics being used are those of the mercedes, I don't
think the cars have their own physics. But I think it won't be hard to
change the physics in F1 2001 since it has such an open structure..
I myself wouldn't know where to start, but I'm sure we can expect some
really nice user-addons for f1 2001 soon :))

Hm, let me guess. Windows98? :)

Gosh I hope that OS goes out the window(s) soon. ;-)

But thanks for noticing; more work on clean exits.

The files for the cars are just text-files, you can look at them in
the car folders in F1 2001. It's really impressive if all that's
described in those files are implemented in the actual physics code..
The files are named *.hdv and *.pm.

But the cars is going to be of different qualities depending on how
much work people lay into it, no doubt. The Porsche GT3 with Doug
Arnao's parameters is very good IMO. Oversteer galore, and you feel
that the most of the inertia is well behind the driver's seat. A minor
quirk is that it is almost impossible to peel off. It is a 400hp car
after all...

The Celica on the other hand just seems to have ripped off most of the
GT3 parameters and not touched the others, the engine is exactly the
same as the porsche's for instance. It is WAY too grippy and stiff for
a roadcar, though. I think it has most of the F1 suspension
parameters.

It would be really cool if ISI made a guide to the files, as not
everything is self-explanatory. A nice preview of what WSC might be
like, though.
