MS SW FF wheel

Reading RAS I enjoy my TM Formula One less and less with time.
Now I'm almost decided to buy the new FF wheel. But Logitech or Microsoft?
In case with Logitech I'm aware of its pedals that are not so good as I
understood.
But I can't find any info or picture of MS FF in the web.
Could anyone send me its pictures and parametres or when can I find it.
But maybe generally it's not a good idea - to buy MSFF wheel ?

Thank you.

I don't have pictures, but I'm sure MS has some somewhere.  However,
I've tried both wheels and for me, the Logitech was the best choice.
(your tastes might vary)
A few things I didn't like about the MS wheel.

The way it mounted to the desk.  (wouldn't work with my desk drawer)

Non USB version requires a midi port.  If you use a joyswitch to
switch between different controllers this can be a problem, although
some switches support midi.

The ac adapter plugs into the wheel.  (just another wire on the desk)
Logitech's ac adapter plugs in the pedal base, much better idea IMO.

The MS wheel has a "gear" feel to it, especially when used with non FF
games.  (not sure how Logitech does it, but their wheel has a much
better overall feel, no "ratchety" sensation) IMO

As for the pedals, this was a concern of mine as well, since I had
read so many bad reports.  They aren't near as bad as I was expecting,
and the overall design is well done, and comfortable to use.
(actually like it better than my Nascar Pro pedals)  I do wish they
would of used stiffer springs, but this is really a minor gripe for
me.
This site might have some pictures of both wheels, not sure.

Good luck!

Did you try the manufacturer's hompeage?  It's there.  Heres the url

Your welcome.

I just bought one.  Pedals are great, but the 'feel' of the wheel is a little
'notchy' since it is gear driven.  No big deal though.

I am wondering how you "understood" this? Especially since if you were
to actually try the pedals, you would see it is not true.

Oh,boy, I do decided to bye Logitech but the fate wants opposite...And now
I've been waiting for MSWFF that some company shipped to me.
There was so complex circumstances .... But I really wanted Logi . What am I
suppose to do now ? When they assured me to buy MS, I surrendered because
there was no post about "MSWFF is bad" , only that "LWFF is better". Now it
is. Am I stupid ?

I think it's a matter of personal preference.  I have one of each, both on
fast systems
with SBLive sound cards.  I actually prefer the MS wheel to the Logitech.

At least I got a good deal ($112) on the Logitech wheel at Egghead.

Thanks for the balm on my soul, Scott ! It's more likely that I'll enjoy
that MS at all :o).
But I have to wait until Saturday to get it in my shaking hands. Then I will
rest...

Tell me once again it's not bad at all !!!!
I'll become insane until Saturday !

I have a TSW and a MSFF wheel, and I use the MS wheel exclusively now, with no
regrets.

Does that make you feel better?

Gordon

I feel better and better :o). Just called to my gravedigger and unsubscribed
my order to the best place at local graveyard.
Better than TSW ( it's Thomas Enterprises Wheel I guess ) ???

                            Tra-la-la-la-la
                             La-a-la-la-la-la...!!!

I wouldn't go so far as to say it is better.

The MSFFW has a slight "ratchety" feel, because of the gear drive. The TSW is
smoother, but the MS wheel has force feedback, great pedals and I'm not
constatntly replacing pots.

Gordon
