What is Microprose F1???

by Ronny Holmstr » Tue, 28 Nov 1995 04:00:00

I went to a softwarestore here in Finland today. They had some Microprose-games on a
specialprice. One of these games was called simply: F1. I got very confused. On the
cover it said that is was based on the 1993 GPseason and that you could drive any of the
1993 cicuits. It looked a bit different than F1GP. You could for instance see your
frontwheels when in the***pit. There was also a multiplayer option included, based
on a "monitor-split" method, i.e. 2 players could drive simultaneously. Why havent I
heard of this game before? Or is it that bad? On the cover-box it said that an early
version of this game had appeared under the name: VROOM MULTIPLAY. Does
anyone have some more info on this game? I didnt get to try it, too bad. It wasnt
expensive, only 129 Fmk, approximately 30$.

It's the PC version of VROOM! from the Amiga.

It has no realism, but VERY high speed
driving. Fun in an arcade sort of way.

It's probably worth about $15 US.

I know what your talking about!

I have played the first Vroom game on the Amiga and it was good FUN, simply put it's O.K if you have somone to
race against but its NOT a simulation, I'd say buy it for that price IF you have someone to race aginst otherwise do
not buy it.

I would give it a raing of 75% in 2 player
60% on your own.

Depends what you like Arcade (Vroom) or sim.

Either this is cynical :) or you are one stupid and far-too-confident jerk!

Vroom was bad, F1GP has always been and will always be BRILLIANT.

I agree F1GP is the best sim ever
