F1 Manager 96, not by Microprose

I saw amessage about in the newsgroup and went to the web site:
http//www.software2000.de
 to check it out.
It was the first time I ever regretted not knowing German. It is a German
site and if someone actually read something on that site then i have a few
questions
 - is it out yet?
 - if it is, is there an English version?
 - is it better/worse than MPS GPManager?
 - any other useful info.

Thanks for any help

Alexander

It's been released in the UK by Europress under the name
'F1 Manager.'

I haven't played it enough to make any substantial comments,
but I have found it very complicated and difficult to get into.

The game is by a German design team which, I suppose, is why most of
the stuff on it is in German.
Yes the game is out, and available in English.  I got my copy from an
Electronics Boutique (sp?)
From what I have seen it appears to be a lot better than the MPS
effort.

Hi I have the game and can answer questions about it. In fact I am doing
a complete review of the game and it will appear in the November issue of
Gp2 Online - International  http://www.git.net/necron99/gp2j.html

1 - It is by Software 2000 not Microprose
2 - It uses the actual 1996 field and includes drivers from other
            seasons as well, I.e Mansell
3 - It is not available in English but I have translated the
manual to english

4 - I feel it is much better than GP Manager by Mp.

Any other questions feel free to ask!

I own the game for a long time now and yes, it is complicated.
F1 Manager was buggy like hell and playable since the 1.12 patch
appeared one month ago.

F1 manager has a very simplistic economic part (buried in a badly
designed interface) and a very good racing engine. The races are quite
thrilling and the user's control here is simply excellent.

Between the races there is not much to do as to repair your car and
maybe develop one new part.

I played the grand prix manager from microprose before and honestly
said, F1 manager 96 is two classes better.

The November issue will be available shortly....It is uploaded to the
server but I have had problems this weekend with my E-mail system. I can
send them but not receive them(-: That is the reason for the delay. This
issue features our usual monthly columns plus a couple of new ones. Also
an interview with Mathias Reichert of Software 2000. There is also a very
in-depth review of their new simulation F1 Manager 96 (F1 Manager for
those of you outside of Germany). Sorry for the delay. I am awaiting a
couple of translations to Italian and French before we turn the November
issue online! All articles will be available in French, English, and
Italian. If you attach to the site now at
http://www.git.net/necron99/f1j.html it says November, but it is still
the October issue. Only the new graphic is seen now. This will change to
the November issue in 2  days.

Youe are correct, I recently have had several conversations with the
Origianl Authors of the game and they told me that Europress would be
distributing the game World Wide. Also they informed me that the "Sprite
Collison detection bug" and the drivers database will be released
shortly as well.
