GPLDemo doesn't work on my AMD k6-2....

by Gertjan Westene » Mon, 14 Dec 1998 04:00:00

Hi,
I have the AMD K6-2 300, and unfortunately I can't get the gpldemo to work on
my system. The game does startup normally, it then detects my joystick, so I
get into the calibration screen. But the mouse doesn't work in the game.I can
calibrate the stick, but without the mouse I can't do anything! Anybody
familiar with this problem??
I have a Logitech cordless mouse.

Any help would be appriciated.

Regards,
Gertjan

If it's one of the older demos (dated before Oct98) then you're outta' luck.  The
older ones only ran on the Pentiums....If it's the newer demo (with Monza and
garage access), then it could be your chip...Have a look at the write up on the
AMD K6 at Tom's Hardware Guide:

Cheers!

Beg pardon? I was running the original demo on my K6-233 when it first
appeared and then on my K6-2 300. I haven't tried the new demo, since
I've got the full game, which I have never had a problem with. If
everything works but the mouse, I'd say he should look at his mouse
drivers, not the cpu.

Try a normal serial or PS/2 mouse with default Windows drivers.

Yeah removing the old mousedriver twice finally solved the problem (don't ask
me why it didn't work the first time), thanks for the help!
