I am so tired of riding around the track 4-6 laps during every caution.  Is
there a way (even hex editing) of reducing the # of laps of a caution?
Also, is there a way to increase what it takes to CAUSE a caution?

BTW, got the track pack -- C***te is just amazing.  Anyone have
C***te setup hints yet?  My top so far is 179...but my car pushes badly.

Also, since I installed 1.2 my top at Talladega tops at 189+.  Hints?  I ran
214+ without the restrictor plate but blew the field away even at maximum
opponent strength so I'm runnin' legal again.

I just used their ACE12 setup and modified it for what I thought would work
best for my driving style.  Best lap was a 201.xxx while trailing the lead
draft.

Maybe you can help me with a question...I see many references to "running
without the restrictor plate", but nobody ever lets on how to do this.  What
is the magic solution?

Thanks in advance,

I was wondering how you were able to run a 201.xxx at Taladega V 1.2 with the
restrictor plate.  When I'm playing at 100% difficulty the top computer guys
never seem to go faster than about 195 and so my best speed with a draft is about
195.5.  With no help I can run in the 194's.  What difficulty level were you playing at
and what were the weather conditions?

As for the restrictor plate question just go into the taladega.txt file and change
the line SPDWY 1 42 45 to SPDWY 0 42 45.

I must admit I'm not sure about some of the settings.  The car has the lowest
spoiler allowed, and I stiffened up the shocks.  I turned the lap on the last
or next to last lap, so the fuel was almost gone.  I was trailing the leader(s)
using my "bump&grind" method: If you bump the car in front of you just right,
he doesn't lose the speed, and as a result of your bumping, gets around the
track faster.  Kinda cheap, but it works when going for flat out speed.  The
heartbreak came when I bumped him a little too hard and he lost it right in
front of me....I couldn't avoid him, and a massive pileup ensued.  Luckily I
had already crossed the line and set my lap speed.  Keep in mind also I had
trailed them for most of the lap while being right in their draft.  Also,
Talladega is about the only track I run/practice at a lot.

Thanks for the restrictor plate info...I'll give it a try and see what kind of
lap I can REALLY turn.

I used to only really run on Talladega, but it's pretty easy all in
all. Since I discovered Atlanta and Michigan (ie how to get around
them fast) It's taken Nascar into a newer level. I actually find my
heart rate increasing at particular moments of overtaking drama.

Try the other tracks, such as Michigan.

Stuart.
