You're doing *something right* then <grin>!!
That's just the breaks. 80 lapper at C***te (night race). I'm
running up front, thinking, geez, I can't go the distance on fuel, I
need to pit. I'm about 8 laps shy of a full run. I wait and wait and
wait. No yellow - the race went green the entire time! Well, I
finally made my stop. The *very next lap*, they start making their
stops. I pitted with about 12 to go. Turns out I wound up winning
the race. But I didn't go exactly down pit road at 55 mph, I went
like 45-50 cause I couldn't risk blowing it. I think those computer
cars go 55 exactly.
How about that Rick? Do those computer cars go exactly 55? How about
building a "fudge" factor into the game, where if you just peak 55 to
say, 56, 57 mph by accident and drop it off really quick back to below
that, you don't get penalized (human factor) or maybe just maybe, that
nascar timing official *wasn't checking you that time* hehehe they do
that in real life I do believe. Just thoughts. My real question is do
the computer cars ever get busted for pit-road speed violations?
Never had that happen. Can't comment on that.
Try it at Bristol (grin) if ole Ironhead is out there, he just might
plow into you on the last lap (like what happened to Terry Labonte a
few weeks ago) <big grin> I got nailed once coming out of pit lane on
a YELLOW. Tore my car up good, took me out of the winning contention.
As so many drivers would say, "yeah, we had a great car, we could'a
won today. what a shame, I really hated that for the race team and
all...."

1. Am I the only one who has such horrendous luck as to making green
flag pitstops (not by choice) and having the yellow come out almost
immediately EVERY TIME???? Today I was fortunate at Talladega,
everyone else had already made a stop, but at places such as
Martinsville, this can really be annoying.
2. Today at Talladega, I got into a minor scrape which brought out the
caution, no damage, all OK. Then I noticed that although the yellow
was displayed the cars all stayed at racing speed and continued passing
until the green came out. Another caution came out and the same thing
happened, in fact I was lapped during this caution. I was fit to be
tied, my wife thought I had finally lost it for sure.
3. This may have been an illusion, but at a recent Martinsville race, I
was hit in the rear about 13 times by other cars, most of them coming
out of their groove 'special' to meet me.
Sorry, folks, I'm sure after the heat of battle, you have been frustrated
too. These must just be my imagination running wild.

It already works this way (at least in 1.2). Have you ever turned on
autobraking in the pits and watched your speed momentarily go to 56, yet
you don't get a black flag? The NASCAR official was distracted :-).

The real Indy cars have a botton that let them go at exactly the right speed.
In NASCAR I don't worry about it, I back up and go around the wall...

I for one am very grateful for the update with the yellow flags. Now
I can actually tell when I've picked up the yellow, instead of going
down a position (or more!) or crashing into the back of the pack
because I thought I was still racing to the yellow. good job Papyrus!

I don't know if it is supposed to, but it does. I've tried the alt-b
rout while sitting in the pits and have yet to draw the dreaded black flag.
I'm using version 1.2. (I have yet to get ver 1.21)
