ICR Yellow Flag bug patch NEEDED !

by MyronE18 » Sun, 17 Jul 1994 23:00:02

<<        I've just bought the Indy Motor Speedway add on track for ICR and
just
remembered that I had read something about a patch for the yellow flag
bug?
Does anyone know where I can find that patch?  Do I still need that patch
since the add on upgrade ICR to v1.05 ?

Ver. 1.05 is what (I think) comes with the expansion disks and yes, you'll
need the patch. I found it on America Online in the Papyrus section of the
"Industry Connection."  I assume it's also on CompuServe and, if form
holds, it's probably in both the Sports Sim Forum and The GAMCPUB forum.
Hope this helps and hope you're having better luck at Indy and the road
circuits than I am :(

Hi,
I've just bought the Indy Motor Speedway add on track for ICR and just
remembered that I had read something about a patch for the yellow flag bug?
Does anyone know where I can find that patch?  Do I still need that patch
since the add on upgrade ICR to v1.05 ?

Thanks in advance,

Thong

PS:  The Formula T1 from Thrustmasters is AWESOME with ICR !!!

Using the version 1.05 that comes with the Indianappolis track add on, I've managed
to get into a yellow flag situation that never ends.  I lapped around under yellow
for about 15 laps before I gave up and started over.  If there is a patch for this,
it would have to be after v1.05 -- anyone seen such a thing?

Definitely!  The added degree of control is astounding and it's helped me increase
my Michigan lap speed by 3-4 mph.  Highly recommended.

Thanks Myron.  Unfortunately, I'm not a member of AOL or CS.  Does anyone
know where I can ftp this patch from?  or could someone be kind enough to
uuencode it and post it here if it's not too large.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Thong

ICR Yellow Flag bug patch NEEDED !

Are there any ftp sites that have the yellow flag patch?? I don't have
CompuServ or anything like that, just internet access. I do get a little
tired of of doing like 2 laps on a yellow flag!
Oh yea, thanks for all the replies for my steering wheel recommendation.
I actually ended up ordering the Auto***pit from Simulation Systems.
Since they are right around the corner from my work, I went there and
"test drove" it playing ICR on their computers, and it was totally cool.
They go for $169 at Chips&Bits, a little high, but I think it's worth it,
you definately seem to get more for your money.
Happy racing dudes!

There are three tracks that suffer from this "yellow flag bug":
Indianapolis, Detroit, and Mid-Ohio.  To fix this, go to these tracks'
<TRACK>.TXT files in each of the tracks' subdirectories and make these
substitutions to the variable GFLAG.

INDY.TXT          64198652
DETROIT.TXT       64698698
MIDOHIO.TXT       66789081

Yes, there is.  You can obtain this patch, as well as patches for Ohio and
one other track from the Papyrus BBS or their ftp location.

These files, and others relating to IndyCar Racing and related competitions
can be access by ftp at didnt.doit.wisc.edu:/PublicFiles/Racing/ICR

Just offering a little assistance... and promotion.   :-)
